Getting a sofa into a Ayrshire home
Ayrshire homes range from coastal villas and sandstone terraces in Ayr, Troon and Prestwick to cottages in the villages and new-build estates around Kilmarnock and Irvine. Older properties can have narrow front doors and tight stairs, and cottages often have low ceilings and small hallways. Measure the narrowest point on the way in before choosing a large corner sofa.
- Measure the front door and the narrowest turn
- Check stair width and any landing turns
- Ask which sofas come in sections
